So, Cermisi, ab ins Studio mit Dir! Und keine Ausreden, Du könntest nicht mischen! Wir haben vor zwei Wochen auch für Morten gesungen.

Was mir an der Sache mit dem Obstkorb übrigens besonders gut gefällt, ist dass Paul hier irgendwie seine humorvolle Seite zeigt. Wird ja auch in den Antworten beim Q & A schon deutlich. Eigentlich schade, dass er die Öffentlichkeit manchmal so scheut. Er hat echt das Zeug dazu, auch allein aufzutreten.

Etwas off topic: Vorhin fiel mir dann noch ein, dass es zur Ergänzung doch nett wäre, wenn Magne jetzt noch einen Malkurs verlosen würde.

comparing chipmunks with Bollywood, 7/8 time signature with club-beats, interstellar vs underwater, the hauntingly beautiful vs the hauntingly bizarre, etc etc….
if we go along with the whole fruit set-up; it’s like comparing apples with oranges.

I have to give special mentions to:

- Groik’s Interstellar Mixway; nice opening, planetarium ready, gotta love that countdown, ‘Encounters of the third kind’ reference makes it the best ending
- Melodywhore’s Night Beach Version; such great new chords on verse, really beautifully done
- K-osElx’s Orchestral Remix; very well made, great arrangement skills
- The Brownstone Walkups Prospect Park Mix; original coupling of the feel of the verse vs the pre-chorus/chorus. Great axe work and sounds
- J.fång Sailing Mix; most danceable, hypnotic
- Sandra Thurasch Vocal Remix; beautiful voice, love the bit towards the end

I could easily go on, but we should probably cut to the chase and announce the winner;

….the fruit basket goes to (pause for effect);

RATio music’s Underwater Remix; great feel, sounds gooood, builds it up beautifully, re-imagines the pre-chorus as the chorus, weird special chords added, holds up through-out, majestic and wonderful cinematic outro.

Irgendwie gefällt mir der Humor, der da zwischen den Zeilen rauskommt.
Und so ein selbstgemalter Obstkorb von Paul hat doch wohl auch was, oder?

Möchte zwei Lieder von Pal mal wieder ins Gedächtnis rufen. War bei beiden Liedern eine sehr schöne Sache, da sie so unangekündigt veröffentlicht wurden. Schade, dass es bei "Weathervane" kein gemeinsames Album gab.

It was a complete commercial and artistic failure; Pal simply couldn’t get the a-ha fans to accept any singer other than Morten.

So are you basically saying that I am not an a-ha fan because I accept (and love) Pål’s singing?

Similarly, you wrote earlier in connection with Magne’s participation at the Tallin Festival that a-ha fans would have to choose Morten and Magne or go with Pål if Morten and Magne decided to continue with a-ha without Pål.

First of all: they couldn’t and they wouldn’t. Second of all: why would we have to choose? Why couldn’t we follow every combination/constellation the way we do now? Morten solo, Magne solo, Magne with Apparatjik, Magne with Timbersound, Pål with Savoy, with Zoe Gnecco or solo.

Doesn’t make any sense to me.

No!I’m not speaking on behalf of the fans.I’m not implying anything; I’m simply taking the statistics into account.Weathervane didn't work.....As for the rest, it's my own personal views.In my comments as far as I am aware, I have only put forward hypotheses and ideas, not assertions, on this forum, which is a place for a-ha fans to exchange views.Also, I do not have any obligation to anyone to justify what I say but if I had to clarify things, of course every fan is free to follow the solo careers of the three guys, just as they are free to criticise their choices and their projects. As far as I know, that’s what’s known as freedom of expression.Thanks for your understanding!

It can't be an artistic failure just because Morten wasn't singing the song. It was at the time of the release well received but the promotion wasn't good enough. The song was featured in the credits of the movie "Headhunters" which came out in late August 2011. The song however was published in June 2011 already but there was no CD single released and sadly the song in this form with Jimmy Gnecco singing wasn't released on a soundtrack for the movie too. I remember there were like 2-3 live performances in Norway around some Award shows but it wasn't an international promotion though.
