Hello Peter,

I really enjoyed this "ranking", but I have one question. Were you allowed to talk about the future of a-ha or was it clarified in advance that no questions will be asked about this?

Hi. Pål was open to any and all questions. No restrictions. But it didn’t feel like the right occasion to discuss a-ha’s future. I think we all know the situation: if Morten and Magne want to do anything with a-ha, Pål is ready.

So no, Pål didn’t set any restrictions at all - but I understand your question since we didn’t ask what a lot of fans of course are curious about. Our view is: if anything will happen there’s going to be an official announcement.

MEGA Meinen allergrößten Respekt für diesen interessanten Podcast mit Pål. Ihr habt es als Fans geschafft nicht vor Ehrfurcht zu erstarren, sondern eure charmante Moderation mit Scherzen weiter durchzuziehen. Mein Gefühl war, dass es auch Pål richtig gut gefallen hat. Auch wenn die Zuhörer vielleicht mehr Fragen in Richtung "Was ist mit a-ha?", "Was ist mit Morten?" etc. erwartet oder erhofft haben, finde ich euer Verhalten genau richtig. Niemand möchte ständig Fragen zu Kollegen oder einer schwierigen Bandkonstellation beantworten, sondern es geht um mich (Pål) und meine Sicht auf die Dinge. Genau das habt ihr berherzigt und das kam bei Pål gut an, dafür vielen herzlichen Dank von Fan zu Fan . Freue mich auf weitere Folgen und Danke, dass ihr Pål zur Nutzung eines guten Mikrofons verdonnert hattet, dass klingt soviel angenehmer für den Zuhörer

Thanks a lot, we really appreciate the kind feedback. And I just want to stress again that Pål didn’t pose any restrictions on the questions we could ask, but we wanted to stay true to the concept - also with the assumption that anything worth communicating will be communicated by the official management 😊

We hope to get other interesting guests on the show, but we can’t guarantee that they will invest in a proper microphone 😄

Hört Ihr grad auch Episode 26? Unsere unterhaltsamen dänischen Freunde haben aus damals offenkundig vorliegenden Songs ein imaginäres 6. a-ha Album zusammengestellt, welches 1997 hatte erscheinen können. Wow!

Vielen Dank! Happy to hear that you enjoyed it. There’s also an episode where we interview Jørun Bøgeberg who talks about his time with a-ha mainly in the years from 1990-1994. He has a lot of nice insider stories from that era 😊

Möchte auch mal den a-ha Podcast von Jasper und Jens Peter loben. Da habt ihr wirklich tolle Arbeit geleistet mit der ganzen Recherche, den Gästen und den witzigen Anekdoten und Wortwitzen. Macht sehr viel Spaß den Podcast zu hören, auch wenn ich nicht immer dem Ranking zustimmen kann. Wenn a-ha nur in den 2000ern / 2010ern Musik gemacht hätten, wären sie kein bisschen weniger gut meiner Meinung nach gewesen. Ich finde besonders in den den 2000ern haben sie sich selbst übertroffen, auch wenn man das nicht immer so ganz in Zahlen bzw. Charts nachvollziehen kann, aber das ist dann halt persönliche Geschmackssache.

And yes, we are more critical of the post-2000 output where there - in our view - are many fantastic SONGS but probably not fantastic ALBUMS.
