Tekst/Melodi | Morten Harket 1997 | NRK-Mediathek

    Seit 1997 habe ich eine VHS Kassette aufgewahrt wie einen Schatz. ;) Warum?

    Weil dort für mich eine der schönsten Sendungen mit und über Morten Harket drauf war. Die NRK Sendung aus dem Jahre 1997 hieß "Tekst/Melodie" und wurde moderiert von Karoline Krüger. Es fängt an mit dem Song "Ape Angel" - eine Studioaufnahme aus Morten's Archiv, welcher wohl nie auf einer Deluxe Edition erscheinen wird oder doch Harald Wiik ? Ich liebe diesen Song von der ersten Sekunde an.

    Danach lauscht man Morten mit seiner Everly-Gitarre ein paar Wild-Seeds Song spielen. Zwischendurch gibt es die Demo-Version von "To let you win" zu hören, zu der Morten selber ein paar Schnalz-Klick Laute hinzugefügt hatte. Last but not least die starken Performances von Songs wie "XMAS-Card", "Lord" und "Bridge Over Troubled Waters". Mit dabei der unfassbar gute Kjetil Bjerkestrand und viele weitere tolle Musiker. DemNRK sei Dank :thatsit: wurde die Sendung endlich digitalisiert und in die Mediathek gestellt.

    Wer es zum ersten Mal sieht wird begeistert sein, wer es nach ewigen Zeiten nochmal sieht wird ebenso begeistert sein. Das waren für mich noch tolle TV-Zeiten, wo man sich mal getraut auch unfertige Songs zu präsentieren.

    A singer from Norway is talking about love for motorbikes and some songs that weren't included in the Wild Seed album will be probably included in a future album.

    Karoline Krueger says that Morten is a man 120% commited everything he is doing all the time.

    The song A king of christmas cards inspired by a song by a band called The Locomotive which Morten heard in Trondheim.

    He talks a lot about Wild Seed

    Håvard Rem wrote the lyrics of Christmas Card, it was not longer just a trivial ballad but a stronger song.

    After the Wild Seed album released in 1995 he released the Vogs Villa album in Norwegian.

    K Krueger : is there a clear thread in this?

    Morten : no it's more a long and winding road, i go where the roads leads me , along and winding roads juste like a Beatles song.

    a-ha performed on the opening night of the Lillehammer 1994 Winter Olympics.Morten was in his hotel in Lillehammer and he wrote a song and phoned it to Håvard in the middle of the night.

    Morten talks a lot about working with Håvard a lot of praise.

    Morten was in the Maldives to dive and snorkle with Håvard , and on the way back to Norway they wrote the song Los Angeles, Havard first song in English.

    Then he talks about the song Lord and the work with Kjetil Bjerkestrand.

    Karoline Krueger plays the demo of To let you win recorded with Kjetil in Borneo on the cassette radio player.

    Morten talks about the first album he ever heard, an album of Simon and Garfunkel : Bridges over troubles water

    He really loves the album especially the title track.He was 10-12 years old, he says. then he performs it himself.

    When he was finishing the Wild Seed album, he felt the album lacked two songs..One of them was A King of Christmas Card.Havard changed the whole song from just being another rather boring ballad to a really strong song.

    There's enough material to do a Deluxe Edition, Ideally, i'd' like to have : live versions, demos, remix and previously unreleased songs for example.

    And i hope it will include live music not just from Norway but from other countries too.

    Don't forget the importance of releasing the Deluxe Edition in physical format, vinyl, tape, CD.😐
