SAVOY haben ihr 4. Album "Reasons To Stay Indoors" am 08.11.2024 zum ersten Mal auf sämtlichenStreaming-Plattformen veröffentlicht. Das Album wurde neu remastert und bekam auch ein neues Cover-Foto verpasst, inklusive dem aktuellen SAVOY-Logo. Das Cover-Foto von Fotograf Sebastian Schmidt ist nicht gänzlich neu, sondern befand sich schon im CD-Booklet oder als gespiegelte Variante auf der "Half of the time" Promo-CD.

Written during soundcheck …. can’t remember which gig but it was an open-air show somewhere. I have a few songs earmarked in the back of my mind as personal favorites and this is definitely one of them. Lyric wrote itself and reveals a lot. Frode (@haraldunneland )sings great harmonies thru-out and Joe Mardin (@joe.mardin) out-did himself on the string score. Beautifully mixed by Michael Ilbert (@michaelilbert)

A straight-up pop song. The Mountains Of Time album had a song called GrindYouDown which I think held a similar spot and function on that album: …also built around a guitar hook, …with three part harmonies on the choruses, …foot tapper,…fun to play live, …released as a single back in the day.

Track three: FACE.

We spent the last half of the 90’s living in Soho, New York City and it was nothing but pretty damn great. Back then Soho was empty during the week and it had none of the high fashion shops and mega brand stores it has now.
The right side of scruffy, it was.

Greene Street Recording where a-ha mixed Memorial Beach and Live In South America, was right around the corner, and Sorcerer Sound Studios, a favorite for Savoy drum sessions, was just a little further down the street. Perfect.
We lived in a loft: a big open warehouse type space with a studio right smack in the middle.
And the neighbors were cool too.

I only got one (!) complaint once where the guy upstairs begged me to work on a different track:-) Can’t remember which song that offended to that degree but he told me the bass-drum pattern drove his wife crazy.
Anywho, after a few years, we started to miss something greener and softer and would frequently escape Upstate during weekends and holidays. Usually to Woodstock. It always struck me driving back after one of these trips, how it felt coming back into the city… seeing it open up as we got closer:
I always thought, ‘woah, this is a LOT!’

FACE is a song that comes out of that feeling and expands onto other bits from there.
