A-Ha 'Proud To Be Potters'
EIGHTIES pop group A-Ha have today sung the praises of Britannia's Proud to be a Potter campaign . . . and urged supporters to join them in backing the plan to create something BIG at the Britannia Stadium.
Norwegian pair Morten Harket and Magne Furuholmen, who revealed their passion for Stoke City Football Club earlier this season, have submitted photographs to the campaign which is now in its final few days.
A-Ha have joined television celebrity Nick Hancock and the Club's first team stars in showing that they are all 'Proud to be a Potter' while hundreds of fans of the Club have shown their support in this unique way.
In a joint statement, Morten and Magne said: "We are proud and honoured to give our backing to this fantastic campaign.
"It's a great way for fans to show their support for the Club and we hope to come to the Britannia Stadium one day to see the effect that it has had visually, because it sounds like a stunning feature."
A-Ha proudly announced that they were City fans when they toured Britain late last year with Morten explaining: "When we were kids, Stoke were massive in Norway because they were always on television. That's how many Norwegians became interested in the Club and why we did too."
Supporters have until 11.59pm on Sunday 28th February 2010 to submit their photographs which will be used to create two large iconic images, one of which will feature the Club's most famous footballing son Sir Stanley Matthews.
